Default Rear light

As we all know the OEM tail/brake light lasts about 6 months before going tits up. New one from GoFasters $80 Found this one on AMAZON, that's right Amazon, $17 + free shipping. Little trimming, couple new mounting holes and walah, new light

that's what i would think but that sticker looking so good made me wonder if they took it off the other end, all the way back to the other mounting bracket, which would be just one bracket now, just looking at mine this seems unlikely... would like to see another picture from the inside.

Busted it up some more. Cracked the lighting switch block. Not sure how, but it still works just has a big hole in it. I think I'll pull it off and run without a light, or just put a jumper on the 2 pins so its always on low beam. Bugger. Cracked the hand guard bracket too. Strangely I don't recall hitting anything with it, with the only lay over being on the other side where I tried to climb out of a muddy rut a bit too aggressively.

Now off to wash her, treat her right, and see what else needs to be done. This new bikes broken more bits in its 40hrs than the old one did in over 300hrs. They just don't make em like they used to!

Spent a lot of money on her today!

New 2011 plastic kit with Suomi six days stickers on it
New reeds
New spokes
New wheel bearings
New air box as the old one leaked like a sieve
New air filter
New tyres and mooses
New piston
New brp chain guide
New swingarm slider
New chain rollers
New carb rubbers
New exhaust springs orings and lower rubber bolt thingy..

Wonder if it would have been easier to buy a new bike... but the wife would recognise a new bike whereas this is just parts!

It was great meeting you this weekend. Hope to attend more NEPG this season. If I'm not there, look for Mark.

That's because guys like me that are still competitive on 11 and 13yr old bikes are bad for business!

Bit of tinkering, after confirming the squish on stock motor was almost 2.5mm I sent it down to DMCCA last week for some love. Got it back and put it on, new squish is 1.28mm using a .3mm gasket (stock is .5mm) the bottom of the transfer ports are now approx .5mm below the piston, and the exhaust port is a bees d!ck below the piston crown at BDC, which from speaking with DMCCA isn't a bad thing. It was supposed to be 1.3mm using the .5mm gasket but was 1.48mm, neither of us are sure what went wrong however he is more then happy to re-cut it but for now we decided to try it with the .3mm gasket and see what I think.
While I was at it I measured ring gap, both top and bottom gap is .457mm after 11 hrs of riding.
Also checked the preload on the power valve, has enough tension on it to crush a straw up against the stop and hold it there so thats fine.

Clutch outer basker looks like it has lots of oil holes for flow, I haven't looked at the inner basket yet, but touch wood it hasn't squealed at me too loud as yet.

Put it all back together, tomorrow I'll fill it with fluids and start her up. !psm
