I must have missed that memo / e-mail. When dealing with Spain, what I have learned since March 2014 is...they will communicate when THEY decide to. Dates or deadlines are "penciled in".

I used to do alot of business in Brasil - beautiful place to visit. I would spend months at a time there - for my company and consulting for the United Nations... Great patience is required as absolutely nothing will happen on time.. I think I heard the saying "there is no time".

I remember one time a very necessary piece of equipment didn't show up and one of my U.S. coworkers freaked out. He said "oh my god!, what are we going to do now?!?". I replied calmly - "Did you bring your swim trunks? Do you feel like going for a swim today?".

Sometimes you gotta just "roll with it".

In a previous post Anders mentioned the 18th... If it's one or two months later - no reason to freak out.... ;-)

Good story Jeff. I will say this....it really doesn't matter what is going on, if they give a date...that should be considered as a "around 'bout time" unless it involves a holiday off. Then you can count on them to be exact, right down to the minute.

It's not right or wrong. Totally different culture...

I realized that watching to see what was different from our culture was very interesting to me. Some North Americans that I worked with were pretty rigid in their thinking and had a *very* hard time adapting....

Americans....Live to work.

Europeans....Work to live.

...and that is where the difference lies I like their way better!
