Spot on!

The black pipe has something at exactly the same spot as the KTM pipe in the pictures. Couldn't find anything good to poke with but put together a small bolt and jingled it around. After trying from both ends, the bolt klanks around but stops right at the weld by the fattest part and can in no way go past the obstruction.

So, on with the new FMF Gnarly doma copy and a CCK needle on #3, and a 178MJ. Pipe had small crack right behind the flange where the two stamped halves meet. Cleaned both sides w contact cleaner and put on some quick-steel and let dry for 20mins. Some permatex on the pipe and it slid right in. Except for the small crack, fit and finish is perfect. E-line pipe guard for stock pipe did not fit at all.

Started it up and noticed a different, raspier sound. Took it off choke and rode it under light load through the gears to clear the blubbering. Stopped to check the engine temp on the back of the cylinder on the intake side and it was warmer than usual. Now that it was warmed up and cleared out I took it for a spin.

Sure the CCK is linear, but it runs like a RAPED APE! Couldn't stop laughing! Whooa! Finally some open-class power. From below idle, it runs clean, strong and completely linear to crazy high revs. Wheelies in fouth gear from pure roll on is no problem. And the sound! Howls like a factory MX bike.

Will try to raise the needle and go up to a 180 just to check if it's a little too lean and see if the engine temps come down a bit.

So cool! Thanks for all the input guys.

So i have another question for all of you jetting guys out there. I have a 2002 EC250. Here were the settings befor my LTR jetting kit that i put in today.

#7 slide
PJ #35
Stock needle clip position #2
MJ #175
Air screw 2 turns out
At 2000-2500Ft.

This set-up was fairly hard hitting middle and good top end with a decent bottom end pull.

With the LTR kit installed the bike seemed very smooth. Most of my ridding is sand and open areas for now. What can i do to get more HIT out of the bike as far as jetting goes?

THANKS!!!

The LTR needle (single taper) takes out the hit. If you want the hit I'd look at running the N1EF (triple taper) needle. One of the guys posted a great write op on a handfull of neeedles. You should try to search it out.

Sure wish i would have known that befor i went and spent $56 on it.

Thats all right. If i end up doing some Hare scramble races this set-up could help me.

I am going to try and lean every setting out one step and se what happens. Thanks again.

I think the RB carb mod would be what you are looking for.
