Why this Forum not Smackover?

I was wondering why everyone moved over to this forum? I moved because everyone else did and it's good to have all the GG people in one place but this forum didn't exist or wasn't active at the same time as smackover right? Both Forum's are great and I'm happy using this one, doesn't really make any difference to me I just wondered why...
