Default brembo ktm front brake conversion

Hi all

i have a 12 ec300 factory, im not happy with the factory nissin front brake.
has any one fitted a front ktm brembo set up? Or even just changed the master cylinder to a brembo unit? Feedback please
i have tryed to get my set up good but it has now never been better but im still not happy... i have come from ktm and their units are wicked!

Both Nissin & brembo are quality brakes good enough for 315mph moto gp missles.

Have you bled the brake? what condition are the pads in, try some 'sintered' ones for more bite.
What about the brake line? swap them out for braided ones.

I have 98 ec250 with brembo's fitted which I stripped down and rebuilt using all of the above I have suggested to you
They are excellent brakes, however from experience the parts are stupidy expensive I think I paid 9 pounds for a rubber slider cover and I needed 2 !!

hi savage sausage
thanks for your input but..
gp bikes dont go 315mph and there braking set ups are unrelated to our dirt bikes for many obvious reasons
have tried many pad types, brands, sintered expensive pads etc..
My machine is running a braided line

your year runs brembo??? is that on a marzocchi forks?
Cheers

I've used a couple of different calipers and master cylinders on my supermoto and the fork mount is the same as ktm 95mm

I tried a Brembo front caliper and master cylinder on my 13 Gas Gas and the mount for the brake was juuuust a hair off, although the bolt holes did line up (using a 2007 KTM 250 XCFW front brake setup). The stock rotor grazed the inside of the caliper. So I never was able to tell if it made a difference because I didn't want to take a chance on a mishap and didn't want to fuss with it anymore. It's funny because my 13 had terrible front brakes and no amount of bleeding, changing pads, etc. seemed to improve it. My 14 has great brakes, so I'm really not sure what the difference is.

Perhaps because GG was at the bottom of the vendor list and were using factory-seconds? I certainly believe that was the case with the Keihin carbs on the 2012 model year.
