Default Aprilia Climber and VOR 400

Okay, let's clear this up now: I'm a complete idiot. There, I said it now let's move on: I just bought an Aprilia Climber trials bike and I need to start finding parts. Any sources in North America or do I need to go to Europe. I'm also probably going to buy the same guy's VOR 400. It's pretty neat, the motor has been upgraded to make it reliable, and it's cheap. Anybody know anything about the VORs? Thanks for the help!

Eric

Tryals Shop http://www.tryalsshop.com/ used to be the importer when I rode my Aprilia. Give them a call. They were easy to deal with and can probably help you out. Post what you find because I have thought about picking up another one myself and have been wondering about parts issues.
That being said, it will probably be easier getting parts for it than the VOR.

I had a mate who bought a VOR 400 brand new, he didn't keep it for long as it was unreliable and it kept going back under warranty.

The forward kick start took some getting used to. I think his was only 4 speed as well.

I raced a 2001 Vor400 for almost four years and had very few problems with it. I truly loved that bike. As Vor is no more, I sold mine in 2004 and bought a Gas Gas 300. I would assume that parts are nonexistant for the Vor. Collectors item only.

Thanks for the help! I'm deciding against the VOR as I recently decided I need to simplify my life due to a significant change. I have found out that VOR parts are relatively easy to get so others need not be so put off by them...Then again, I collect bikes that have not been made for 30 years so I have a different view of "hard to find" than most! I'll post more on the Aprilia as I get it together! Thanks again for all of your help!

i do many vintage bikes also - i think you will find climber specific parts pretty difficult to find... luckily the front end, wheels, brakes, etc. are all the usual trials stuff..

I have 3 VOR's and no longer ride them due to parts. I started riding them in
'01 (400) and have owned 5 of them(400/450/503/530). Owning them is like owning a Ferrari in many respects(cost/reliabilty). The owner of majority owner of VOR passed away in '03 hence the demise of the company. Please pm if you don't want the 400...

Thanks
