Default 1st GasGas

Ran my first race with a 2011 250e and won my class at the Picacho National Hare Scramble in Clear Creek last weekend. Over 30 bikes were left on the trail to be cleared at the end of the race, but the only Gasser in the field ran stellar. Love the bike more and more each ride, handles better than any other bike i've owned. One gripe, can somebody please help me with this leaky gas cap?!?!?!? Smells like my old orange bike with gas all over the tank and seat. Cheers guys

Silly question... Is the gasket in the cap? I know, but I had to ask.

Mine leaked, and it ended up being the cap itself. The threads in the cap were almost white. Obviously it had been overtightened, cross threaded, or something of that nature. My dealer replaced it for me. no leaks now.

Yea that looked like it was going to be a tough race. Where are you from? Get the bike from Moore and Sons? More and more owners in CA these days this is awesome.

Guys, Check the rubber diaphram inside the cap. Mine actually shrank after just a few hours, and wouldn't seal properly.

Congrats on your victory! Our 2010 doesn't leak so yes check the rubber gasket and make sure it's seated all the way and not caught up on a thread if you haven't already done so.

I had that problem with my new Husky, looked at the cap three times and didn't see anything then on the fourth time I turned the rubber seal clockwise in the cap and saw that it wasn't under the last thread on the inside of the cap... Problem solved.

Thanks guys. I'm really into the bike and excited about the brand. As fas as the gas cap goes, the rubber diaphram is in and looks fine, but leaks. I picked the bike up at MPC in Sacramento, they were solid to deal with and I'm sure they'll help me out here, just thought I'd try to sort it out my self before the yelp for help.
