Default EC Skid Plate

Being totally disappointed in the CRD skid model that has to be the dumbest design ever (hooks on the back side of the frame so when you hit the front the back falls off were it hooks on in the wrong direction), I'm looking for a replacement.
Any comments on these for slipping over logs/rocks ?

(a lot cheaper than the others)

or Scorpion

or Hyde plastic
http://www.gofasters.com/index.php?m...oducts_id=6340

or??

I've never ridden with a plastic bash plate before, is it too slippery and slides off when perched precariously on a wet log/rock ? The reduced noise factor is a nice benefit though.

I still believe the Mecasystem is the best.

I'm already leaning that way bro. The Meca is polished pretty (but not for long) and probably lighter but it doesn't show how its mounted and with all those holes I'd probably be pulling out tons of sticks and debris. My money may stay in Canada this time.
I dig the HD mounts and smooth bottomside hardware.

I went to scorpion after using the Hyde combo. Steve Vanderhelm was a fellow racer and knows the value of keeping the bike going through the worst of it!
The hyde offered nice pipe and case protection but didn't save the frame rails from munching or from filling up with 40# of mud...

if you use the hyde combo it works great to put a piece of wire mesh/screen in front of it. that keeps out most of the muck and debris.

I've got an Eline carbon guard that has been doing the job. And to tell you the truth I can't stand the dead armadillo wrapped around the engine look.

After our ride this weekend I'll be adding something between the guard and engine also. Packed full of mud.
