Exhaust Spacer

I just read a post by Berkyboy who said that he had installed a 10mm spacer on a ec200 and the bike sang.
What is your opinion on putting one on an EC 250 or 300 with standard pipe? I had a 5mm spacer on my 06 YZ 250 and bike hit hard of the bottom with no loss on overrev.

I can't answer your question but I'm interested in how that would work in fitting. Where does the spacer go and how do you get the exhaust to fit the bike when 10mm longer?

For how it might work you could check some of the stuff online about 2 stroke pipe tuning. If it's good or not will depend on what you want from the bike.

I made one for my IT175 back in the day. It was 10MM as well. It added much more bottom end with no loose like you said. I might just have to make another one sometime soon here for the Gasgas.

I agree, 10mm will be too much on the 2008 which already has issues on touching the front tire on jumps. The spacer is installed behind the two o-rings at the base of the spigot. 5mm was enough to wake up my YZ with an FMF fatty. Actually I got the info from thumpertalk on their YZ exhaust review. The main difference between the 2005 and late 2006 to present YZs is that the factory lengthened the pipe length just as it exits the cylinder, giving the YZs that increadible rush right off the bottom. The stock 06-07 exhaust is the best pipe for the YZ.
