Powervalve vent nipple
I strong armed mine while installing it to a new cylinder and split it in half. I've looked at microfiches online but they are not very clear. Anyone able to get a part number for this?
Is it even necessary? |

Which side of the engine? RHS cover is the vent for the gearbox too. LHS drains the spooge.

I don't know the thread size, either M5 or M6, so search for M6 vent or nipple

It's the right hand side above the powervalve. It's the only vent on this bike that I'm able to find. It currently has nothing screwed into it and I ran the bike briefly for the first time today. There is a long rubber hose that attaches to it. I'm just not sure what it affects without the long hose on it. There is no standing water here in the desert so I'm wondering, while I get one on the way, if I can run it and break in the new piston and cylinder.
Metric nipples aren't super common in town so I'm thinking I'll drill the center out of a metric grease nipple and use that. |

It would work fine, the hose only stops stuff getting in so easily and stops goop running down your engine.
The lack of vents is one of the few things I don't like about this bike. The gearbox is vented to the rhs PV cover, which allows acidic byproducts of combustion into the gearbox which reduces the life of your gear oil (which does not have acidity regulators) considerably.

As I recall one side has a much larger diameter hole than the other, but I do not know which is which.
