The clutch cover and water pump fit perfect to the new cases. The new clutch cover dowels were a little tight but after some assembly lube they went in ok. I torqued the clutch and water pump cover bolts in a crisscross 3 step pattern to 7 foot pounds. Tonight I will do a leak down test on the engine. The forks should be here in the next two weeks.
I found that the black oxide bolts would rust up fairly quickly, but the solution I found was to use naval jelly/rust converter to turn the oxidation from red back to black. Just something to consider.

No problem, I know how much the little details matter to you. I had installed socekt bolts on my GS750 with polished cases so it jumped right out (plus I live in Seattle...). I don't think it was exactly naval jelly (been a number of years), but whatever liquid rust converter I had on hand.

Ok, thanks again!

Default Intake Air Leak at Moose Torque Reed Spacer and VForce

I was doing a leak down test and I am having an air leak at the intake. I have an air leak around the Moose Torque Reed Spacer and a smaller leak from the VForce. What about applying Yamabond 4 or Yamabond 5 to the gaskets? Ideas?

With similar leaks I've used 3Bond which I assume Yambond will be same.

If you are concerned about the gasket, maybe consider some synthetic grease instead of an adhesive. It would help the gasket swell a touch and provide a tacky surface that should adapt to any irregularities on the bonding surfaces.

Cad plated front axle.front wheel, brake and cable installed.

New Suzuki oem front fender. Yahoo! This is the first time I have taken her off the stand.
