I will stick with the GG stock pipe on the bike for now unless it gets smashed somehow.

I was more interested in getting an increase in the idle-off idle-lower mid power. The power range before the engine comes onto the pipe. On the pipe it flat goes, off the pipe it is good, I wanted to make it great too.

Don't forget that I am transitioning from a KTM 450XC, so maybe I need to change the way I am riding the bike too. However, from what I've been reading and my evaluation of the bike so far, I believe that there is so much more potential in the 300 vs as is stock.

I wouldn't go too strong on the bottom end on a 300 unless you're riding all fast stuff. The problem I found with too much bottom is the abruptness of the power commencement. 4 strokes start producing torque much more gradually and require more throttle. A 300 2 stroke will suddenly jump from nothing at just above idle to let's say 5 bhp on a whisker of throttle. That doesn't matter if your terrain is open or dry but trying to get it round a greasy, tight flat turn is another matter. 4 strokes may produce similar or more low down power but are much more linear on the throttle. My bike came with a Gnarly and PV cover and I soon ditched them trying to find a smoother bottom end throttle response.
