Default 2018 ec300 starting issues! Wtf.

I picked up my ec 300 Early July to find that none of the starter issues have been dealt with? Wtf? I thought Gasgas had this figured out
And why wouldn?t they make sure it was all set before selling it?
I contacted the dealer and they offered to send me the upgraded ground cable and said I might have to send my CDI yo have it sent out to correct the starting issue. And this comes at the peak of riding season. I think gas gas should send the proper fix!!! Has anyone else have had to deal with this issue??

Guessing your in the states? Take it back to the dealer to have the repairs done. I'm sure not what you wanted to hear.

Default Sucks

Steve"s my friend that I got into riding gassers . I feel like a jerk as he bought a new bike that I recommended from a dealer I recommended also. He's had a few issues and they all could have / should have been avoided. He is not a bike wrench or super enthusiast just a regular guy thinking he bought a new bike to avoid the hassles of owning an old one . My new Sherco starts right up every time I hit the button .His bike wont button start cold and only when it wants to warm. He has the bike I wanted but I'm kind of glad I didn't buy..... Yet. I can honestly say my Sherco has been trouble free . Steve can't say that about his gasser. I'll see what 2020 brings?

Perhaps Stoby could spin some spanners for you Steve?

I'm in Australia and just bought a new EC250. I have not started it yet, but I also know my dealer has not done any reflashing/upgraded cabling. I will probably run a nice beefy cable from the battery to the starter to provide a solid earth path, and hope that is all it needs. I also have a YZ kick starter I'll be putting on the lass. I don't mind using me leg and if they had of offered a kick only model I would have gone that route!

My dealer did the cable mods and reflashed the ECU.

Starts and runs fine.

Thanks for the advice Jakobi!
I have no problem turning wrenches having been a certified diesel mechanic for years. Chris is a great friend and thinks I forgot how to turn a wrench! I still have a gg 2001 ec250 and the reason I up graded primarily was for the suspension and the button, I prefer the kick but In Technical terrain even know the bike lugs great sometimes you still make life easier with the button, besides you should always get what you pay for! Regardless of preference!

I agree entirely!!

I'll let you know how I get along with it.

Anyone else in Australia source their upgraded cables through the dealer/distribuer networks? Or just went and picked some up off your own back?
