Default A lot of clutch noise

Hi,

I have a 20 hours old ec300 '13 and the clutch is making a lot of noise when engaged / neutral and the oil is warm/hot.
It sounds like to much play.
Have anyone else had this before?

I gues it is new, so no worries? Or have i to replace parts?
Help!

Are we talking about the extra noise that can be heard when idling in neutral, that gets noticeable when you release the clutch?
Or are you able to hear something abnormal while riding?

Clutch noise idling in neutral is something that all my bikes have acquired at some point in their first 100 hours, I attribute it to increasing clearance in the clutch basket bearings / countershaft input bearing. The noise arrives long before the bearings need to be changed out. My GG is right in line with this schedule.

The other things on these engines that can start getting "rattly" souding in a small amount of time are:
-freeplay in the exhaust valve linkage (had to adjust mine @ 30 hours)
-worn pipe to cylinder 0-rings (had to replace mine @ 50 hours)

No it is only at idling in neutral.
Within my perspective it is a big difference in mechanical sound when you operate the clutch in neutral or not.

But maybe it is normal?...

Pretty normal in my eyes, depending on how loud it is. Post a vid and let the internet judge lol.

Thicker oil will calm it down a little bit. KTM 300's recommend 10w50 in their gearboxes

This is not unique to gas gas almost every bike I ve ever owned gets noticably noisier when clutch released 2 or 4 stroke, you should hear a bmw k1200 ticking over in neutral, like a cement mixer.

Yep, all the late models gassers rattle at idle while in neutral with clutch lever out. If you pull the clutch lever in the noise immediately stops. I installed a recluse basket, which is a beautiful product, then no more rattle.

Just completely rebuilt my clutch with new basket and cush drive, I still get the rattling, not known a bike without it to be honest.
