Make it easy on yourself and wire it in like my bike came from the factory (the '00). There is a simple on/off switch mounted on the numer plate/headlight housing. It is directly in front of the right fork on the backside of the numer plate/headlamp housing. The web on the number plate/headlamp housing is drilled for an on/off switch to mount so you just reach inside and flip it on or off. Unless you want high and low beam? Would still be cheaper to do the same and use a 3-position switch. Make sure it is sealed against water and moisture. Aircraft switches are made that way.
