Stator Yellow Yellow Pink 98 ec250
Help please!
Been doing my head in. I have two yellow wires and one pink coming up from the stator. I have an original regulator with two yellow wires and then a red and black running to the horn. Im running lights speedo and horn. Cant seem to get the all working. Are both the yellow wires from the stator used? and connected to the regulator? or is one of the yellow wires an output to ground?.Whats the pink wire from the stator?? any help appreciated.. |

Look at post #4. It describes the dual setup on old bikes. You have wires from two places: inner flywheel and outer Ducati rotor. The counterbalanced quad engines have a similar setup. A quad wiring diagram would help.

Here's a quad wiring diagram. You can see the external rotor (V in center) and two styles of flywheels. One might match your machine. See if you can find any similarity in the color schemes. Use the numbers and legend to figure out the actual wire colors.

Just did all this with my 98. The Ducati coil is a double coil Yellow to pink is one coil and the other yellow to pink the other coil. Pink is common. OR Ground in this case. Tie pink to frame, and only ONE yellow to voltage reg wires. Like it shows on number 23 on the PDF posted above.
If you use both yellows you would have double voltage and fry your regulator and other electrics. Just tape off the unused yellow. |
