Default 300 EC owners, what voltage do get from your alternator

What voltage do you get from your alternators on the 300 (model year 2018 and 2019) ?

On the 2018 GP I measured 13 v when idling then opened the throttle but only got 13.4 volts

My Kato delivered 14.5 volts.

Same here. With fully charged battery 13v to 13,2v at idle and 13,4 to 13,5v when revving it.

Thank you! Seems to be a feature not a fault

I forgot to mention that I was seeing these numbers also on my 2015 model with a sido battery I had installed and to another 2018 model of customer of mine.

Spiros, it seems to be normal. Another colleague at Thumper Talk measured the charging voltage and the results are pretty much identical.

Funny that he measured 15.2 volts when he disconnected the battery....

The usual range for a charging system is between 13.5-15 volts. Due to the gassers single phase charging system they are slow to build voltage. Inherent feature unfortunately.

Thanks Nate, I see. That would be an explanation why we measured such a low voltage.
