So where to get a short seat for 2012. I see you can get tall seat foam but wondering where one could get seat foam an inch or so shorter. Or do you just have to shave foam.
Thanks

You could try and shave it, but looking at the 2012 model seat I'm not too sure how much you'd be able to remove before hitting plastic.

Not sure if anyone has a lowering link out for these yet, but I'd imagine they'd be your best bet. Other option is just keep riding

I doubt looking at mine that you would get much off it by shaving foam.
As Jake says lowering link or just do as I do and stand up nearly all the time
Cheers Mark

from what i have read everywhere about suspension you should avoid lowering link at all costs, rather get a suspension tuner to lower your shock internally (this will reduce the travel slightly) and then raise the forks in the t-clamp by the same amount

+1, shorten the shock and revalve accordingly if need be.

I think getting a tuner would be my best bet. I had my CRF 250x lowered by Richard @House of Horsepower along with re-valve and was amazed on how much better it handled, plus I was able to put a foot down.
I was just wondering if someone had an aftermarket seat out yet in addition to having suspension worked on. I'm only 5'4" and need all the help I can get!
Thanks for responses.

The better option for the forks is to also restrict their travel internally. The spring seat gets moved and an internal restrictor limits rebound - that way you're not in danger of having the front tire stopped by the fender and lower triple clamp and you also have the fork clamped appropriately.
