Being I'm stuck with this bike for awhile I'm looking into a solution to catastrophic failure by shortening the inner fender and reinforcing the rear of the subframe rails. The hand holds make things difficult. Problem is without a spare inner I have to plan the mod carefully before I cut, like surgery!
A quick and dirty pre-emptive strike might be to partially cut the inner fender, so it's weaker and snaps off before taking the family with it. And get rid of that pig muffler, or at least shorten it. At least you could ride out then. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
