Default New 2014 Kawasakis

Here is the link but there isn't anything new. The Japanese still have their head in the sand. The same aluminum frames since 1997 and the same 4 stroke engines since 1998. If the Japanese continue like this they are going to go bankrupt. The Yamaha YZs are unique(with the wrap around exhaust) but there aren't innovative at all. I wouldn't trade my gasser for a shipload of that aluminum framed outdated thumper junk.

I heard Yamaha might be developing a new 450. Complete new bike as the current model proved to be inadequate both in US and EU

Thats kind of strange seeing they doubled down on the design this year, and the 250 is the same concept as well.

They needed EFI on the 250....think it was long over due on the tuning fork!
Yamaha is not shy towards forward thinking.....first with single rear shock, water cooling, power valves, just the short list....oh...ya YZM400...kinda changed the game...just a little!

I'm really anxious to see if that 250 can be a viable woods bike. The Cannondale I had, despite its flaws, was razor thin and had nothing hanging down or out to bend or break. It encourged bold moves on obstacles I would not try now without a spare pipe or two in the garage. I cleared a huge tree on that bike I'll never forget.

I like the tuning fork products, they seem to be the only ones that are trying to make some forward strides. I'm disappointed to see the same japanese models year after year with little meaningful change.

The new honda bikes are really innovative.. oh wait. thats the street bike line. But honestly they are the only company who seams to be doing something there lately.. the new CBR250-500's are really nice.. the 500 adv bike looks great if it ever actually shows up and the 250 ds bike is nice altho heavy..and they have a retro cb coming out that looks nice..

Honda seems to be on the ball with the street bike line, they seem to be buliding some new updated machines that are affordable.

I kinda wish they would-or somebody would- make a real replacement for the BRP. You know a sub 300 pound 650 CC dual sport bike that you could race dessert or enduro with and run around town. My 03 Ktm 625sxc was fun but was about 302 decked out and long. Turning radius of a truck or it seamed in the stick farms. I took it everywhere I took my 250ec just not as fast or as easy to do. But running down I-80 to grab lunch after a ride was nice. Or going tight trails 45 miles from home and 5 hrs later making a 30 minute ride down the interstate for the easy way home was a great option. Sad we get low power 250cc 320# ds bikes now.
