RHS Crank seal, losing gearbox oil

Hi,

First time going insude a motorcycle engine. Just want to make sure ive got things straight. Ive ordered:

RHS crank seal
O-ring, not sure of the name but people mention it and gasgas uk said they knew what i was talking about.
Big clutch gasket
Small round clutch gasket
Water pump gasket.
30mm socket for clutch nut.

Do i need a power valve cover gasket?

I will coat new gaskets with hylomar gasket sealant.

Just thought maybe i should do metal water impeller blade while i am there. Anything else i should order or service for this job?

no need for pv gasket
You'll need a wrench for the clutch basket nut
and/or an airgun for the left threaded crank nut, try to lose it up before taking off the basket by puting an alu washer blocking the cogs.

By the way does anyone know why you have to mark the basket position before taking it off as the manual says?

Thanks for the reply. You mean i need a 30mm wrench instead of a 30mm socket for the clutch basket nut? Maybe i should invest in an airgun, i love power tools but was trying to keep costs down.

Thanks for the basket position heads up, wouldnt have known.

The nearest manual i can find is for a 2006. Will that be close enough?

Don't confuse the clutch basket cover nut (which is normal thread) with the other Crank nut which is reverse thread and tear into in with an impact gun... Ask me how I know (very expensive mistake)

No I mean the special tool wrench for holding the basket from turning. As with the airgun, those special tools can save you a lot of time and troubles. Of course you can try other ways like the washer mentioned for the crank nut or applying rear brake for the basket but those buggers with loctite can be a pain to remove...

When in doubt read the manual or here some Jakobi's threads on bottom rebuilds... much detail and concerns covered.

Ah yes, i get ya. I was gonna use one of the hacky methods but i agree the proper tools save a lot of blood and tears.

Ive read so many jakobi-the-jetter threads i almost feel guilty taking advantage of more free knowledge. Thanks for the tips.
