Newer 250 head on 98 model
I have a 98 with the offset plug hole so getting the squish done is impossible as most people will use the central plug hole to attach to the lathe/milling machine.
So my question is can I fit a later head with a central plug hole to my bike. Thanks |

Negative, you will need the entire cylinder from a later model also. I tried the same thing on my 97'.

I bought an entire 2005 top end from AZRickD on here, keep your eyes open they always turn up. I thought about putting a 300 top on it to have a CB'd 300, that would be a treat since those CB's make the bike soooo smooth! I needed it more for the conversion kit since it wouldn't fit with the tilted plug and the tall water jacket on there.

Maybe you can have someone chuck up the head in a lathe from the outside perimiter or bolt it down from the head bolt holes? Otherwise you can put in a thin base gasket to bump compression.
