Default More Suspension Questions

Bought an 01 EC250 and have run into some issues with the forks--they are the Marzocchi's, I believe. I read the sticky about base-line settings (Thanks LTR) and dove in: Rebuilt the rear shock, replaced/repacked all swingarm pivot bearings and am now trying to get the front end in shape. I cannot get the springs out of the forks. I can get the top caps unsrewed from the tubes but have been unable to get the springs out so I can completely drain the fluid and refill accurately. From the looks of it, I should be loosening the jam nut that's just below the top cap but I'm not sure. The manual is no help at app--pictures don't match what I have. Looking for advice on how to get that done. I'm also interested in hearing from anyone who has moved their forks up in the clamp. I'm planning to try 5mm when I get it all back together.

If its an '01 in the USA it should have come with WPs. Regardless, the cap must unscrew from the top of the damper rod in all forks. You need to hold the spring guide or nut below the cap and break the cap loose.

Thanks for the responses and clarification on my forks and for the links to the manuals--yes I did see the ones on the home page when I logged in this time.
