Default Power valve rattle on 2012

Has anyone out there pulled the power valves out without pulling the cylinder off , I think I have one of the rods that connect the two sides broken . Tony

Tony,

I am not 100% sure, but I think it can be done with the piston center bottom.

Pull your pipe and remove r/h power valve cover. The linkage attached to a bell crank that operates the power valve. Sometimes that bell crank pin can break off and cause a rattle and or not working power valve.

Yes it can, but it is a PITA when you need to look in the exhuast spigot to line things up.

Its easy as if all you want to do is remove the rods. Remove both PV covers. Disconnect the arm, Pull out the RHS bearing, Push the rod out the other side.

Getting the flapper out in situ is a pain though as you don't have much room to work. Removing the head can make things easier, but in general still a bit of work jiggling it just the right way. If you leave it sitting there though it'll be pretty easy to check the parts and then slide the rods back through.
