Default Dripping gas and WOT gurgle

I'll say up front I don't think these 2 issues are related. Perhaps I'm wrong.

My bike has started dripping gas when it's sitting on the stand.
From my reading on this forum it sounds like I need to check the float height and also the seal on the float needle. Does that sound right?

She also has a pretty good gurgle at WOT. Do I need to look at my main jet to try to clear that up? My dealer put a JD Jetting Kit in it for sealevel as I live in central Texas. Other than that I'm not sure what main jet is in it.

I'd do the float first, and ride to see if you got 2 birds with one stone.

If there was no leakings in past I would not touch the level.
Rather I would change the needle valve.
