2015 ec 300 engine trouble

hi im asking for any thoughts you may have on the problems my 2015 gas gas ec 300 has picked up its 4 months old and it has only covered 400km it started on saturday while i was on a run out with friends the first thing i noticed before we set off is the electric starter would not work, i carried on using the kicksart after a couple of hours the bike developed an erratic idle follwed by a knocking noise (pinking) then the bike started to overheat . i decided to get it home there was approx 1.5ltr of coolant gone from the cooling system, ive drained and replaced the fuel and checked for air leaks on the inlet rubber etc, has anyone had any similar issues? thanks for any replies regards rob

Water pump impeller?? or broken shaft. Sorry to hear.

Sounds like coolant getting into the cylinder/combustion area and burning off. Could be a bad head gasket/oring? You could try to pressurize the cylinder (through the plug hole, TDC) and see if you get any bubbles in the radiator. Also check to see if you get any pressure in the tranny, that may tell you where to look.

Not sure but with that new of a bike with that little usage I'd be calling the dealer to have them deal with it. Unless you did something really bad you shouldn't have to go into the motor of a bike that new.

6 month warranty on gas gas in the UK call the dealer don't get fobbed off. Got mine fixed after 5 months and I was the second owner.

I would be interested in hearing about your starter issues. The 2015 starter was supposed to be a huge improvement over the old model.

my bike came with a 2 year warranty , i was under the impression the new starters worked fine .

is it a 2015 bike or a 2014 bike thats just been registered ?

stuart, were on earth did you get a 2 year warranty?? Please lets hear of the starter issues. I'm thinking of a '15 as well

fingers crossed its all going to be sorted over warranty spoke to dealer today the starter packed in saturday along with all the other issues, could be linked but unlikley i would have thought thanks for the replies
