300DE in WI - sell or part out?

Guys,
I've got an 04 DE300 in Wisconsin I'm looking to sell. It's not cherry by any means, but it does have a fresh top end, sprockets, chain and good tires. I'm wanting $1800 for it, but would part it out if I have trouble selling. Do any of you guys have any experience with parting out a bike and was it worth it in the long run? If anyone's interested in various parts, I'd like to know so I can justify taking it apart. Thanks!

Hi Jeremy,
I just got back from a trip to Bentonville. I had the bike along and did some riding down there. It was great. My inlaws live down there, so I'll likely come down again, possibly this summer.

I rode with some guys I "met" on the internet...Nathan, Doug and Paul at Whiterock. That was pretty intense, and those guys were pretty fast. Next time, we should definitely hook up for a ride if I still have a bike :-)
