Default GoPro lenses

I found these accessory lenses for the GoPro that will eliminate the super wide angle look. Quite a range to choose from. They will fit in the stock housing. Disassembly of camera is required but doesn't look bad, especially for a savy GG owner. This should put the fisheye issue/complaints of the GoPro to bed. I may get one, I emailed them which would be best for MC helmet cam use.

I'd be interested in seeing how these work. I agree, the super wide view sucks for helmet came use. No depth.

According to Dennis at Ragecams, the 3.6mm would be best for our helmet cam use, not as wide as stock lens view but wide enough. The 6mm and up are used for guns and model aircraft video. Nice thing is it still works in the waterproof housing, I wash mine in the sink after a ride. Sounds like just what is needed to cure the only real GoPro flaw.

Finally, that wide angle on the Gopro makes you look like a wimp after all the bragging you do about the hard trails you ride....

And thats the issue I had with the go pro.. it muted the hills so much all the trails looked,, well,, like semi flat..
Its cool there is a fix for that.. I have some other issues with that design.. but I have issues with them all.. cant wait to see the results!

So wide = wimpy I guess? I haven't posted any hard stuff yet, but it does tame the terrain. Too bad suspension doesn't work that well.

I have no issues with the GoPro under visor setup now that my visor noise is fixed. Easy on/off and you don't know its there. Plus, if it does come loose by chance you will know it as it will fall past or into your face. If you go with their mounts on top or side though it will be cleaned off in short order unless your in open terrain.

There were several gopro videos of the hammer runs "rollercoaster" section.. looked like small slightly rolling hills..

Come back here in spring Steve and we will climb some stuff with real depth, beaten up by all the fall rain, and compare the video. You guys are right no argument there, just that the camera is not that big of a deal and the GoPro is just easy and cheap. If you didn't bring this up I probably wouldn't even have thought about it. Now its something else I have to fix damn it.

mine was cheaper.... just sayin.. all these cameras wash out the landscape elevation change to a point.. I just went with mount options and price..contour is blowing out the regular HD right now since they changed the lineup.. the HD is now a GPS cam, the hd+ had a wide/reg lens on command and gps then they have a base model called the roam.. a bit tougher and slightly waterproof.. I really like the BT /iphone option a lot.. I'm going to do that soon.. that and the plastic case.. I like the gopro but it had so slight differences.. nothing major.. and the washout was the big decision maker.. I did not want to have to change to aftermarket stuff right away.. tho now that you posted this I have found stuff for the contour too..

I haven't really shopped for them but a Contour I just saw in a ski shop was tagged at $500.

To be honest the whole video editing thing is very time consuming and I don't have the time to mess with it like I thought I would. I have a garage full of bikes to service and my '12 on the way. Doing a big KX front end/hop up project on my son's friend's KLX, plus we got a 2nd dog. Very cool dog, a rescue, mostly pitbull with some lab mix from what I can tell. Runs like a gazelle! I think a harness cam would be funny as hell, make us all look slow!
