Default piston pics

06 300 with about 55 to 60 hours on the piston.

Pics aren't the greatest quality, there is some scoring on the piston side wall but I don't know if that is normal and from the power valve. ther eis quitre a bit of carbon build up above and below the rings. let see if I can post the pics

first pic is mid stroke

lines on left side can not be felt with a finger. Is it metal scoring or crud on the power valve "Polishing" the piston??

btw on a scale of 1 to 10 how cruddy is that power valve. 1 being like new, 10 being OMFG

If I were you I would put the pipe back on, wash the bike till it is sterile and then put a new top end in it appears to be time. And yes oyru pwervalve appears to be dirty as well. I can't stress enough the need for lots of washing before a topend. The last thing you want to do is open your engine up and let a bunch of stuff fall into the bottom end.
