Default Have I been ripped off?

I purchased a 2011 ec 300 and i think I have been ripped off,
The vin is either
VTREC3000G0160943
or
VTREC3000C0160943
its hard to tell ,it has Nambotin plastics
the vin checker says 2016 model or 2012 model
the frame looks like an older model[now that I am having increased scrutiny]
its rectangular section -with no cutouts down near the swingarm.
The engine number is EC300506013599. Any suggestions on what I got?
Thanks
James

If you post a picture its easier to tell what it really is (at least year of the frame).

The 10th digit C would indicate 2012. If that is a 2011 Nambotin or Race model it could have possibly gotten a C designation rather than a B. Yes a picture would help.

Here is a shot showing the side of my 2006 model. It looks pretty similar.

Here is a closeup of the side of my 2006 model.

I have other pics if you want to compare the rest of the bike to yours.

Do the wheels have any date markings?
These are sunstar brand wheels.....

OK-I have found a 2005 stamp on the underside of the fuel tank

Yeah she's an old one with new plastics. 2 piece fuel tank, old frame, shock, water pump cover. But.. the cylinder is from a newer model!

The VIN will be a G, and it'll be an 06 model

Euro standards allow the 10th digit to be either/any letter or number for a given row.

IE my 2010 VIN showed as an L, when you'd expect it to be an A.

Quoted again incase you missed it.

I bought my 2010 brand new, clearly stamped L. Clearly written on all my documentation, and 100% and above a 2010 Euro model.

You have, without a doubt a 2006 model with updated subframe, airbox, seat, and plastics.

At 3K I'd live with it, or sell it again. You'll spend more than it's worth going the legal route unless if you have someone who will represent you for free.

Also, as stated.. it has 12+ cylinder on it, so whoever has owned it previously has done some work.

I see you have 3 real options. 1) Sell it 2) Keep it 3) try and give it back and get a refund.
