Default Header tank level ...

2004 300ec , is there surpose to be any coolant in there ? i did a day out last sunday and it was warm so i checked the coolant last night and i had to add a cup full.

I can only think it was fired out the overflow so what im a asking is is there got to be any coolant in the small curved header tank around the front of the frame ?

no, it is just an expansion tank, not a reservoir.

with your bike being a 2003 it may help to just replace your radiator cap with a new one. I know a few have removed the expansion tank altogether and fitted 1.8 cap

Mine (2005 EC250) will hold a little coolant in the header when warm, maybe a level of 10-15mm. As said check the rad cap, they can leak due to dirt under seals and or rubber wears out.
