Default EC250 Questions from a new member

Hi

Just joined the forum in the UK after picking up a 09 EC250 Six Days (and coming across from the dark - well Orange side)

I already have a few questions which hopefully you guys can help with?

I seem to have a slight leak from the breathers at the front when the engine is running - is this normal?

Does anyone have any advice on carb breather routing? Do they need to be routed into the airbox for riding through water and if they do which ones?

All advice much appreciated!

Thanks

Welcome to the club. Lucky you! I wish I had the $$ to upgrade. Yes, the vapor at the front is normal. Some drippage (?) when parked also. If yours is the same as the older models you will want to route the right pv vent tube upwards towards the handlebars as it is actually the tranny vent. The left pv vent tube vents the spooge from the power valve. As for the carb vent lines do a search for "vent" as there are some really good posts on rerouting some of the carb vent lines to the (modified) air box to prevent sand and water from getting pulled into the carb.

Anyone got a link to the carb vent routing thread? Tried searching but couldn't find it.

Sorry guys. I'll bet that was something off of the old "Smackover" discussion board.
I can't remember the exact modification. Hopefully GMP or one of the other "longtimers" (more PC than oldtimers ) will help out.

Default carb breathers

If they still come the way they used to then all 4 tubes are taped together with black tape. Cut the tape long ways so you have 4 independent hoses.
Route one on each side down, one on each side to the air box. Use the vent of your choice and at least cut the lower tubes at angle, helps with mud buildup. Hope this helps.
