I want black rims on my '04 300...has anyone ever tried painting them?...what about powder coat?...would my wheels look goofy with black rims and the stock silver spokes?...

Sorry to say but I have to vote plain AU. Black will always look dirty and I'm not fond of the look anyways.

Black rims get worn really easy. I still like them but brighter colours last longer and look better with time than the black.

A guy I work with powder coated his rims.
Seems to hold up well.
He did his son's rims half red and black.

Anodizing works better because it actually bonds into the aluminum.

What ever you do, leave the rim lips natural aluminum. That way, you can lever on tires and scrape rocks without screwing up the painted portion.

Yep, it's a fashion show for some riders!

I'm not a bling guy and my bikes prove that. I like them to look good, but my bike budget is better spent on things that matter more too me. So my '05 has no graphics on the left radiator shroud. They protected the plastic very well. I use metal strapping to replace a broken silencer mount on the subframe. The only non-stock items are Moose push-button fork air bleeders, Fastway footpegs, Pro taper bars, BRP top 3xclamp and just recently, a complete new '06 GasGas headlight assembly becasue I was sent the wrong shell. Go Faster's made it right and I had them send me the lamp assembly for the new shell and it works much better than the Ganada head light. I can actually aim it where I need it. Sweet!

My 2000 is very Mad Max!
