Kind of hard to tell w/o seeing in person. Were you checking the jetting at full throttle? Half throttle? You might try one size richer just to compare throttle response as well as a plug reading. Just my 2 cents.

Hard to tell from the picture, but if the center is more like real chocolate milk than white milk with a 1/4 teaspoon of Nestle Quik you're in the right spot.

I like the suggestion to try one step richer though. You never know (well maybe you do) when you might run into some deep tilled up sand or a cold snap that will load you up or lean you out unexpectedly.

Thanks guys, I'll go back up one notch, that's where I came from, I might go to 178 from 175 on the main as well ( I started at 36mm carb on a 300 38 jd blue 3rd 170 standard head but it's got the s3 black insert high comp head now). Its getting close though.

Looks like your bike does the same thing mine does and colours up one side of the plug alot more than the other making it well difficult to read.

Spot on! Looking forward to the suzuk needle, been trying to work out how much richer the bike is running, pity this is too lean because it's a raped ape like this.

I ran in to one notch on the needle being too rich one way and too lean the other so I used one of those 1/2 step washers under the clip and it worked perfectly.
