Default '11 EC300 Oil Quantity

I've done a fair amount of searching and I think I found the answer. I'm sorry if I sound like a total noob...

I completely drained the oil. Left the plug off all night.
Could only pour 650ml back in before the level was half way up the sight glass. Couldn't run her cuz the head is off. But I did cycle the kick start several times and the level didn't change.
I don't think that I had 250ml of trapped oil. Rather, I think that the oil sight glass doesn't really reflect the 900ml quantity called for.

The answer: I think I should pour the last 250ml in and ride on.
Anyone want to chime in and tell me I have cracked the GG oil quantity code?

Thanks!

Sight glass is not for oil level check, it is for oil condition check. Most use a full liter but 900mL is actual amount I believe

Yep and yep! 900ml is what they suggest but 1L is a round number and the cases will take it easily.

The sight glass will have the oil line just visible at the very top with the bike level. Sometimes you need to lay the bike over slightly to get a peek at the bubble.

That's what I thought.
1QT=946ml. Convenient just to dump it all in.

Thanks for the verification!

I wounder if running a full liter would help with the clutch squawk. I am going to try and see if it helps anyways. Ordered a Rekluse yesterday. That should help the problem some too I hope.

I wonder if the original location of the sight glass was based on about 700ml (a normal level for a 2 stroke). But due to clutch issues, the engineers quickly decided that 900ml was a better level.

On the Gas Gas designed motors(2T),the oil level has always been 900l.

I just use a full qt and call it good.
