And Girona is already developing the new Dakar model, at least this time only the engine is Yamaha. Looks quite nice

GG finished 4th in the Baja Aragon (most important baja of spain) with a prototype of the next Dakar bike

Marc Guasch fourth place in the Baja Spain
Good debut of the prototype with which Guasch and Laia Sanz will contest the 2013 Dakar Rally. Only a rigorous penalty in the second stage deprived the Gas Gas rider to reach the podium
The Baja Spain Aragon came this weekend at the 29th edition with the participation of the Gas Gas team with Marc Guasch at the controls of the new EC 450F. The aim was to accumulate kilometers facing the development of what will be the bike that Guasch and Laia Sanz played the Dakar Rally 2013.

Although the main function was to test the bike race, Marc Guasch demonstrated a great pace from the start and was third in the prologue on Friday. However, was conditioned by a five minutes penalty as advance the check arrival that made ​​him drop to eighth place in the second stage. Guasch, which was becoming more comfortable on the bike being developed with the technical team of Gas Gas, was fighting until the end to get the podium but eventually had to settle for fourth place overall and second on 450cc category.

Finally, good results and great feelings for the draft raids in which Gas is progressing steadily with the spotlight placed on the next edition of the Dakar Rally.

"This race has helped us to collect information for further work on the Dakar bike. The test debut in a raid has been very positive and has caused a good impression. We have not had any mechanical problems and it's very important that the bike is reliable to be effective and competitive for the Dakar."
