Default Buying Shims - Where?

I've been running KTMs (380s and 300s) since '97; but just purchased a new '11 EC-300 Six day after reading about the distributor changes and after having followed the GasGas bikes with interest over the last couple of years.

Winter is here and will not be able to ride for about three months so doing a lot of lurking and mental garage tuning. Have about 10 minutes on the bike. LOL

Reading about the Zokes and rebound issues - wondering where you guys buy revalving shims. I have quite a few from the WP forks but I see the Zoke specs are 8.1mm ID where the ones I have are 6 and 8.0 ID. Can you help a new Gasser owner out?

I suppose the 8mmID and the 8.1mm Zoke spec ID may be close enough: The differene being .004 inch. I 've previously bought mine from MxTech.

60 year old trail rider (occasional enduro rider) that sometimes thinks he is 30-40.

Any bike shop that does suspension work should be able to help you out. Racetech sells shims in packs of 10, but they are rather expensive. A friendly local repair shop (non dealer) may be your best option as they aren't usually so 'tight' about selling something like shims. A suspension shop may look at it from the perspective that if you do your own valving, they're losing work. Be prepared to pay around $1-$2 per shim.
