Air box full of oil
I have a 05 FSE 450 if it sit for a week or more the oil drains out of tank and fills the crankcase full then flows through the breather hose into the air box.I routed a new new breather hose up over the head then down to airbox still same problem, but took about two weeks to get to airbox.Any ideas out there. Thanks

I'm not too versed on the GG 4 strokes.
But, I would look at the oil filter. Most motors have an anti drain back valve on the oil filter. |

I beleive my Cannondale had such a valve between the frame (oil resevoir) and the motor to prevent exactly that problem.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the obvious.... you just need to ride more, end of problem!
Yeah, I would look for a check valve problem also. Are you going to the Desert 100 for the poker run or to race? That's your back yard.

Would like to ride more.Looked in owners manual it says it will drain into crankcase, but why the over flow into airbox? Rode the 100 last year not this year to many riders for me.

Because its a dry sump motor, the crank is not supposed to spin in an oil bath. Its pressure lubed from the pump and another pump (scavange pump) sucks up the oil and pumps it back into the frame resevoir. When the piston moves up and down the crankcase must vent through the breather, if there is too much oil in the crankcase it gets blown out the breather into the airbox. It doesn't fill the airbox as it sits, its when you start it after sitting awhile. If its designed to work with some oil draining back into the motor, could you have too much oil in the bike?

FYI... I read reports of Husky 610 riders experiencing this oil-in-airbox issue. It was from overfilling oil level. With proper oil fill, there was no issue.
Perhaps not your exact reason but something to consider.

Mine does the same.
I added the recommended 1800cc of oil. |

05 holds 1200cc not 1800

I misswrote, 1200cc is the amount I put in. Every time I do a full oil and filter service.
