I remember my Dad using a little trick to accelerate the drying process.

He'd ball the filter up real tight in his hand (of course smaller filters then), with his hand in a fist. Then open up his index finger a bit to make a hole, like the OK hand signal.

Then he'd put the rubber blower tip off a compressor hose in the hole, and he'd blow out all the excess fluid.

Just shake it (deliberately away from you in single direction) and hang it to dry.

Compressed air should never be aimed at skin, or even clothing.
