Default You may think I'm dumb...

.... But on a 2011 six days, the Ohlins shock has a black plastic knob around the lower part of the shock shaft for rebound adjustment.

Which way does what? I'm thinking CCW looking down the shock shaft is less rebound damping

Yes. Counter clockwise for faster rebound.

Clockwise for slower, but be careful. As usual, the circuit is shared with compression.

The more you slow down the damping, the more you increase the damping.

Hmmm I'm at 10 clicks out from full soft.

I started counting clicks from full hard, usually I like to express and record clicker settings as " clicks out from full hard" When I had got to 45 clicks with no stop, I went back the other way. No stop at full hard?

If you are laying under the bike, looking up at the rear shock.

CW = more damping
CCW = less damping

Thanks, that makes more sense.

I set both compression and rebound to 17 clicks out. This is a new bike to me, so I have a couple of weeks of suspension fiddling to do.....It works pretty well right now and shows great promise.

Boy does this turn nice, kinda reminds me of a mid '90's CR250 I had back in the day.

Is is a dampoer rod, and needle that seat in the shaft to reduce the rebound flow. Looking from the clevis/bottom of the shock, closing it or turning clockwise lifts the needle into the seat. Opening it up ccw allows the needle to move away from the seat.
