Default Dented my stanchion badly - 2012 GG EC300E

Hi guys.
I have put a serious dent in my stanchion. About 80mm from the bottom.
I'm guessing i will have to replace it.
If i undo the top of the fork, and push the outer tube down, it gets stuck badly where the dent is.

I don't even know what forks i am running. I'm guessing the SACHS 48mm's?

What are my options?
I have heard some estimates of (In South African Rand) R3500 to R4500 for a new Stanchion.
That is roughly the price i will pay for a complete frontend of a WR with KYB's that was parted out.
But i have a spare front wheel for the Gasser for races so i would like to keep it GG.

Thoughts?

If you can round up a good set of KYBs you will benefit financially as well as performance wise. We helped Swazi Matt (and others) do the conversion and they were able to keep the stock GasGas wheels.

Go have a read of the thread I put together re KYB conversion. It covers the years to look for and what's required to make them fit. Also used a set of Steves spacers and a WRF axle to keep using the OEM front wheel.

All up it cost me a few dollars, but very pleased with the outcome.. and that's from someone who's owned the OC 48mm Sachs (later fitted with TTX carts), and Marzocchi 48mm CC with PFP. The KYB are what I'm using and enjoying most.
