Wow that is a big difference. Thanks for the feedback.

Not the 165 vs 300 comparo Steve. The 300 GG vs the 300 Beta . I have a 165 and had a 300 GG so I know how those two stack up .

Having ridden, and picked up, both the '13 Beta and '11 & '12 GG, I can guarantee there is more than a 8 pound weight difference.
Armin, I'm interested in how much sag and what line the forks are at height wise to get the steering you have described?

I've never noticed the weight of my '12 XC 250, which full of fuel and ready to ride is probably on the north side of 260#, even after several hours of riding. It really does ride light. Not as light as a husky WR125 (which is a flyweight & I've rode a bunch of em.), but still nice and 2 stroky light. It also benefits from its ability to hold its line which requires less energy from the rider.

Last wknd, I traded with a buddy who rides a new KTM XC-F350, which is supposed to be lighter than my bike. It's a very good bike, but still 'rode' 20lbs heavier than mine.
