Borrowed from the new bikes forum.

Finally, they have put cut-outs in the side number plate panels so you can access the silencer mounting bolts straight on! A little thing, but those little things have been holding GG back. Let's hope this portends other good things going forward.

Hard to tell, but the subframe doesn't appear to be aluminum...

Look under the XC300 lettering, you'll see the aluminum subframe.
