Unhappy ec200 2011 sixd expansion chamber removal

Perhaps this is the dumbest question in the forum but I cannot remove the expansion chamber!!!
I can remove the springs but I cannot unscrew the 2 screws. They are 8mm hexagon screws but are too close to the chamber and I cannot fit the nut in between. Is this normal?????? Do I need a special T nut or what!?!?!?!?
It is an FMF chamber. Standard for the sixdays edition.
I need to remove it in order to decarb it. By the way, what in your opinion is the best way to do it??

Sometimes annoyingly tight, especially if they've been smooshed in a bit after contact with an immovable object.

Wiggle-wiggle-wiggle-twist-wiggle-wiggle.

The only thing holding the expansion chamber to the motorcycle are the two springs, a lower frame mount, and an upper frame mount (experience from an older model, should be similar on yours). If you are looking at the two visible bolts where the spring mounts, you don't need to undo those.

My process is as follows:
Remove silencer
Remove springs
Remove lower isolation mount (under expansion chamber at the frame)
Remove upper mount (near the kick start)
Slide pipe forward (wiggle-wiggle-wiggle)
Rotate pipe around frame and shock, and you are done.

Good luck, don't get discouraged, and most importantly, don't get a bigger hammer!

Is this true!?!?!?!
Then I'm done!! I removed the springs with the "special"tool but I neveer tried to move wiggle it and I did not remove the other 2 screws.
THANKS A LOT !!!
I will try it tomorrow.

Its true.. thats how its done. When putting it back together I like to smear some high temp silicone over the spigot/orings to assist in the seal too.

I have to say, the 2T engines and chassis are the sweetest thing you will ever work on, regardless of your history with any other bike.

I love when that revelation comes along.

Try 2 stroke roadrace bikes. For a start they are clean, but they are meant to be taken apart regularly. Dry clutches & lots of cool features.

Anyways. . .

Thanks again!
I did it! IT was SOOOOO simple! Pardon my ignorance but I am new in the "mechanic" dept.
I cleaned the exp. chamber using break cleaner (2 cans) and one bottle of "clean gasoline" in order to remove the final residue.
I tried to avoid the torch/burn methodology and I'd like to believe it worked.
