Default Range with an oversized tank 300EC ?

I searched but couldn't locate any previous discussions.

What kind of range are you guys getting with an oversized Clarke Tank on a 300 ?

Thanks

J

I got 105 miles out of my 3.2 gallon tank on my 300 in Colorado (riding above 9,000 feet altitude). Back in Tennessee (1,000 ft alt) I got roughly 76 miles per tank fill. That's easy pace and coasting when feasible on down hills.

Looking at putting this tank on my 2011 250 six days..any fitment issues? I noticed on justgastanks website that you have to move a mounting bracket and that the shrouds may not fit?

On mine, I pulled off one of the angle brackets, since the bolt through the coil bracket darn near lines up with the fastener that is embedded in the tank. Machined a couple spacers on the lathe, so there is no slop.

Shrouds will fit with a little force.

Some bikes didn't come with a a rubber tank strap (under the seat) you can order one, or just use one of the those massive zip ties. I ordered the strap parts but they forgot to include both of the special sub frame bolts...so in a pinch I used a giant zip tie....worked so well never did around to ordering another sub frame bolt.

my shrouds never did fit with the clark oversize tank, even with a heat gun and some swearing. but zip ties came to the rescue and i've been running this setup for 4 years now on my 11 ec 300. the extended range is worth the minor fitment issues. The group i ride with are not real big on blingy fancy anodized bits or polished plastic or fitment imperfection issues. we just get out and ride-often! Function and range are my two biggest concerns when i'm out for a dirt scoot.
