you will have the zennar diode setup grounding the excess ac voltage to earth. I need to convert to DC and regulate, should be simple but its being a pain in the arse.

I had an exorcism performed by the local preist so should be any poltergeists anymore

Damn. Knew I'd spelt that wrong. You don't say your location, if you were chch I'd suggest getting that Wizard bloke to perform it if he's still about.

I'm sure Tim Shadbolt could stand in..

Ohh ohh how about Colin Craig?

(Sorry for in jokes internationals).

Thats exactly what ive got now but just could seem to get a proper DV volts out of it.

Bitten the bullet and bought a trail tech RR now. Im sure there is no difference between that an a conventional 4 wire unit except the price.

ok so bit the bullet and bought a trail tech regrec at much expense. Put it on and i get about .5 volts, goes up to about 6 volts when the idle is really low like about to stall.

Any suggestions before i burn it

Could the stator be breaking down under load?

Colin Craig would indecently touch the poltigeist & then terminate its employment for non-performance.

Specifications from the GG workshop manual:
Yellow to Earth 0.67 ohms +/- 20% @ 20*C
White to Yellow 0.16 ohms +/- 20% @ 20*C

Use White and Lifted Ground Point to power your reg/rectifier. Extreme low voltage like you are getting would suggest a corroded winding that doesn't pass enough current. Or possibly a bad connection somewhere in your wiring.

Found out my stator was playing up and it looked pretty burnt, upon unwinding i found many dodgy areas.

So the story continues............

I got the correct wire from the local motor rewinding guys, rewound the coils with the same number of turns 70 per coil and a total of 7 coils. i started at the first coil and wound them all in series so just 1 wire in and 1 wire out. Tested resistance to 1 ohm and no earth leakage so i Araldited it all up, put it on and fired it up. Got 2.5 volts AC

What did i do wrong!!!!!!!
