You can decide based off that how close their stock jetting probably is. Granted the bikes have always ran alright... usually a bit fat off the bottom which can load up a bit in tight riding, with a wild mid range snap.. and very less than average fuel consumption. Definite room for improvement. The N1E series is also what KTM uses in their SX models. They use the NR8/N3E etc in their exc models. And many riders prefer the Suzuki range of needles in them too. Similar story with Beta... |

Today a made installed a half clip shim.
NEDW clip 2 plus shim 40 pilot Air screw 1 turn 175 main Including the shim makes it the same as NECW clip 3 i believe. Improved snap off the bottom, eliminated the flat spot. A bit of burble came back at cruising speeds. Might give clip 2 and the 45 pilot a go. |

can anyone confirm for me the order of richness of these 3 needles?
NEDW NECJ N3CH I have the N3CH on it's bottom richest clip position and at 60f temp at 1000'ASL it was good. At 40f it has a lean bog off idle and I can't make it richer with the clip. MooseRun is tomorrow and I have the 2 other needles but very little window window to test. |

To clarify I'm looking for which of the top 2 would come closest to an N3EJ. Im missing the connection between N"3"XX and N"C"XX needles

Thanks to Jacob and Doc Brown
So rode this weekend with the changes made by Jacob and Doc Brown. So here I am with a 180 main, 42 pilot and an NEDW needle. Idle screw was too far in made that adjustment and tired it out around the house seemed good. Did a ride this weekend and bike ran wheel. A bit of spoog around the exhaust, just enough to tell me it made the trip. I did experience a bit of a hanging idle after lugging the bike for very long sections but it cleared up after a few seconds of idling.
I am going to tear the bike down at this point check the squish and figure out if I am going to cut the head or buy the RK tech head. So thanks for the help guys. |

Hi Wimpy525, good to see that you could improve the running of your beast. They tend to spooge quite a bit, but that's pretty normal.
If the lean hang is only for a second or two and the bike is running fine otherwise I would not touch the carb. If its definitely more than two seconds you could try to close the air screw in 1/8 steps but not more than one quarter turn. Normally that helps to cure it and one quarter is sure within the limits. Looking forward to reading your experiences and thoughts if you do the head cut. |

Thank you
I wanted to say thank you for all the people that have posted on this thread. My 2019 EC300 ran terribly at anything below 75% throttle. I fitted a NEDW needle 2nd position from the top, a 40 Pilot Jet and I have since found that the Air screw at about 2 turns is about right.
Now my GasGas runs beautifully all the way through the rev range, now I can concentrate on learning to ride the bike. Thanks again |
