Default gasgasman's mc250

Finally got a chance ride ggmans mc250 today.. I dont know where you live, but in Amarillo TX, it has been a brutal summer.. We ride for the most part at the canadian river, which is dry now.. we have had the most days over 100 and least rain on record..ever..

Anyway G and i started talking about his bike a long time ago.. We finally made a deal and I bought it.. got it about 2 weeks ago i think and have been dying to go ride.. My friend Allen and I got up early this am and were riding at 7a...

I have only assembled the bike and checked it out.... have not touched anything, jetting, suspension nothing.. fired up on 2 kicks first time i put fuel in it..

we took off on our normal trails to get a good trial on it.. It is a little pickier on gear selection than my 300, but not bad at all.. It pulls like a mack truck and rips on the top.. the 50's and the ohlins just glide over stuff and the strg dampner already saved me.. I lugged it down pretty low on a rock climb that stalled Allens wr450.. no problem for the gg.. wherever you point that bike, it is going.. you better hang on..

Ggman has been a pleasure to deal with.. he found some stuff on the bike he did not like and sent those parts to me.. He told me 2 things he thought the bike needed, very little stuff, that is all i can find with it also..

He sent me an email.. the bike shop refunded part of the shipping on the bike, which he sent back to me..

the ride report... the bike is very good... 100% what he told me it would be..but the report on the seller... way over what i expected..

thanks gasgasman... i will be ready in 2015..

jay

That is a beautiful bike. It is great to hear such a deal on this forum. There are so many awesome people on here that are a sheer pleasure to deal with.

Have a similar story between Gasser and myself, but I dont want to highjack your thread.

P.S. I was eyeing that bike for a long time, but really wanted a 300!

thanks guys... it is a neat scoot..

and i agree, some great guys on this forum.. i am a member of another forum, but the integrity and knowledge on here is way above..
have bought and sold parts on here from alot of members.. zero issues on all of them..

I need to lower it a tad.. at 5'6" i can barely touch... I read in the suspension, the lowering links dont work that great on the new bodied bikes..
I may take a little out of the seat..
Also.. ggman, what is the difference in the frame from the ec to the mc ? this thing turns awesome.. way better than my 01..

my pipe dream... add a 2k3, halogen headlamp, e start.... but who knows.. it feels lighter than my 01 also.. cant find specs between the 2 to know for sure..

the q is quiet... ran it in sun mode all day.. we actually had a little rain down there and got some mud on it... dropped it once to knock the "fresh" off it..

The frame is the same as an '07 EC, but without the steering lock I believe. All the '07+ turn awesome, and they are lighter. Subtle changes in rake, shock position since '01, plus the bike got a lot flatter in '07.

if you were chasing him on this bike.... he was cheating... it is very good..

dropped it saturday and bent the shifter in... it was hangin up on the ignition cover.... got it bent back out and it clears now.. lost a few decals too... sorry g..
checked with hammer head, the gg shifters are on b/o right now.. may be 2 months he said..
it spooges pretty good here, so i need to address that.. I hate to touch it tho.. My retired neighbor was on me as i had not taken it over to let him look it over... 100 degrees, it was in my shop.. opened it up, fuel on, choke on, one kick....pppuuuurrrrrrr........

gonna lean the needle a clip or so.. nothing big..

Jay. I don't think you can get the FMF Q not to spooge. It spooged on me when I had it on there. Bike ran great though.
