Default I Need A new Gas Cap - Options?

Bike is a 2010 EC300.

I broke off the nipple on the gas cap for the vent tube in a crash - it's a bad design as the nipple sticks out above the cap - on my other caps the vent tube nipple does not stick out beyond the cap.

I want a better replacement. The GG Hard Parts billet aluminum cap also sticks out above the cap, but at least it's weldable. Problem is, GoFasters does not seem to have the Hard Part upgrade cap.

Any idea where I can find the GG billet cap, or some other better design? I've searched but no sucess.

Anybody know if a KTM 2-t gas cap might work.

I've epoxied the stock cap back together as a band-aid fix.

I broke my thumb in the same crash (got a nice camo wrapped fiberglass cast - mofo - can't even ride the DR to work!), so I have the time to wait on shipping if I can source out a better cap.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Jason

Must be common.. I scored the inner rubber out of a cap that had been warrantied for a broken nipple..

I broke off the vent fitting on my gas cap.

I bought a small plastic fitting with barbed ends that I press fit into the opening in the gas cap.

It has worked well for years.

Guys, you must be in some pretty spectacular dismounts to be breaking the top of the gas cap!! I need to push my pace apparently. :-)

haha I was thinking the same thing. I've lost a cap, but I've yet to break one. And trust me, I've had some 10's.

I've had some big, dramatic get-offs, but this wasn't one. Just a flukey little bump off a tree that pitched me down the side of a steep hill on the first lap of an XC race. Had an unfortunate meeting with a tree. Rode the rest of the race slow and in pain, and finished 20th on 1 point - mofo!

Still looking for a better fuel cap if anybody has some ideas.

Nice cast eh!

Here's the start of the race before I tweak myself - I'm not the helmet cam operator, but the the guy on the Gasser who makes the pass in the first turn in the black & white gear through the grass track for the first 3-4 minutes and then gets passed when KTM camera guy straight lines the trees. Enjoy!

He cheated. Sort of.

That's a nice looking course, conspicuously absent of rocks.

OK, some kind of bad karma got me.. the last 10 years I've never had this happen but read this post last night and guess what happened today! Thing is I have a Clark oversize tank (and cap) so this isn't just a GasGas thing. Oh well, better than a burned piston!

Default Anybody In Germany Who Can Help?

OK, I found a billet cap, but it's in Germany:

http://www.teuber-motorsport.de/cata...ducts_id=30093

I sent them an e-mail in German by way of Babblefish translator to see if they would ship to Canada. Thus far no response - no surprise as the Babblefish translation probably seems like I'm illiterate - Ich spreche nicht Deutsches - obviously.

Anybody in Europe speak German who will order this for me, then send it to me via the local postal (mail) service? I'll pay you through PayPal and add a premium for your assistance. Send a PM if you want to help.

I found this GG Hard Part stateside, but I'm not paying $100 for a gas cap:

http://www.ktm-parts.com/BE76010R2508.html

If nobody can help me I'll just buy a stocker from GoFasters. I hope they have one in stock cause my epoxy fix is not gonna last as it already wiggles with just slight hand pressure.

Thanks,

Jason
