05 tank and seat onto a 1999 ec?

dont think they would be even close to fitting

Dont think they would have fitted tank to tall,gonna get some new 99 plastics with better updated graphics tried american sites but shipping is a fortune anybody know any places in uk for aftermarket gear?

Actually the pre-2000 bikes have a taller cylinder head then the 2000 and higher models. there is a bump on the head where the coolant hook-up is and the newer models do not have this bump instead mounting more flush with the head. I did fit a 2000 head onto my 97 and installed the 2001 new style tank / seat with 05 shrouds but it was just proof of concept with a burrowed head so I need to buy one and check it out. Should work and the head is only $130.00. I will tell more when I'm done playing around.
